To get the Coupled Dnipro Magazines, head North of the Cooling Towers, where the Fire Whirl Arch Anomaly is found. Here, Father Valerian will yell to get into the Train Wagon in the middle of the pond. Get ready for a firefight as a wave of 10–16 zombies will spawn. Take out all the Zombies and talk to Father Valerian. You can easily cross the pond and suffer no radiation damage.
Talk to Father Valerian and listen to his story. Father Valerian was the leader of the Free Loners during the events of Stalker: Clear Sky. Since then, the Free Loners have disbanded in Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl, leaving Father Valerian alone to roam the Zone.
