CODBO6 System Requirements – Explained

CODBO6 system requirements? After back-to-back Modern Warfare releases, with the last iteration ending up at Modern Warfare 3, we’re getting something refreshing. Call of Duty is back in action with Black Ops 6. The game promises some QOL improvements along with an “Action Star” Omni Movement System that seems promising. But what about Call of Duty Black Ops 6 System Requirements? Can your GPU run Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

While Activision has listed the Official CODBO6 System Requirements on their official blog, the system requirements seem to be a bit dated. From what I can infer, hardware requirements for COD BO6 seem to target native 1080p at 60FPS on graphical settings either Basic or Recommended. With that said, let’s look at the Official CODBO6 System Requirements.

CODBO6 Minimum System Requirements

Here are the minimum CODBO6 system requirements.

Operating SystemWindows 10 64-Bit
Graphics CardNvidia GTX 960/ GTX 1650/ AMD Radeon RX 470
Storage148 GB (78 GB for CODBO6 + 71 GB for COD HQ and Warzone)
CPUIntel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 5 1400
RAM8 GB

The minimum system requirements for CODBO6 seem to target Minimum Settings for 1080p, without any upscaling or eyecandy enabled. While you might expect to get a solid 60 FPS, expect some 1 Percent Lows dropping beneath 60 FPS on either of the above graphics cards.

CODBO6 System Requirements (Recommended)

CODBO6 System Requirments - Call of Duty Black Ops 6 - COD BO6

Here are the official Recommended System Requirements for COD BO6:

Operating SystemWindows 10 64-Bit or Windows 11 64 Bit
Graphics CardNvidia GTX 1080 Ti / RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6600XT / Intel Arc A770
Storage148 GB (78 GB for CODBO6 + 71 GB for COD HQ and Warzone)
CPUIntel Core i5-6700K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
RAM16 GB

The Recommended System Requirements for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 suggest a GTX 1080 Ti. While the flagship GPU of the 1000 series was once worth the salt, we don’t think it can hold up on the recommended requirements. Expect some frame drops here and there below 60 FPS on Recommended Settings.

In contrast, the RTX 3060 with DLSS 3.0 enabled could easily handle 1440p on the recommended system requirements owing to its 12 GB of VRAM. That’s because CODBO6 has comparable visual fidelity to Modern Warfare 3 (2023). So, it wouldn’t be a long shot to claim that you could play the game easily at around 100 FPS on the Higher Settings with DLSS 3.0 enabled.

Conclusion

CODBO6 is more graphically intensive than CPU intensive, but it would be worth investing into a newer generation processor such as Intel’s 12th gen and 13th gen offerings or AMD’s budget Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. The RTX 3060, owing to its budget friendly price point seems to make more sense for a sweet spot for years to come.

There’s a threshold to graphical fidelity these days and with that kept in mind, you should invest in a RTX 3060 or an AMD RX 6700XT, as they’ll last you a few years. If you’re looking for eye-candy, then both GPUs are worth the salt. If you’re looking to play the game at 1440p 144FPS, then we still recommend the RTX 3060 and RX 6700XT for CODBO6.
