COD BO6 Open Beta Week 2

If you were grinding last weekend, buckle up—new maps, levels, and tweaks are coming your way. If you missed out, this weekend is an open beta, meaning anyone can jump in. No codes, no pre-orders—just download and you’re good to go.

New Maps

First up in COD BO6 Weekend 2, we’re seeing the debut of two new maps. The first, Babylon, is the smallest 6v6 map of the beta. If you enjoyed Shipment, think of Babylon as its close cousin but with a bit more space to breathe. It promises the same chaotic spawns and tight-knit action, so mastering spawn control will be key to success. Expect Babylon to quickly become a fan favorite if you can manage the hectic environment.

Later this weekend, Stakeout will join the lineup. Set in a compact building, this map is designed for ultra-close-quarters combat. I haven’t had a chance to dive into it yet, but it sounds like it’s going to be a high-intensity experience.

COD BO6 Open Beta Week 2 – New Beta Rewards and Level Cap

COD BO6 Open Beta Week 2 Rewards

This weekend, the level cap has been raised to 30, unlocking a slew of new rewards:

  • Animated Emblem: Beta Tester – Level 2
  • Charm: No Bugs – Level 6
  • Emote: Quick Draw – Level 15
  • Operator Skin: Squish – Level 20
  • Operator Skin: Squash – Level 20
  • Truth Lies Loading Screen – Level 23
  • Beta Expert Animated Calling Card – Level 27
  • Bug Smasher Blueprint for the XM4 – Level 30

COD BO6 Open Beta Week 2 – New Scorestreak: Interceptors

Interceptor Score Streak

At level 22, you can now unlock the Interceptors scorestreak. This new addition is essentially an anti-scorestreak tool that clears out UAVs and choppers, making airspace a lot less cluttered. I’m not usually a fan of non-lethal streaks, but at 1,250 points, the Interceptors should help keep the skies cleaner.

Chopper Gunner Score Streak

Also returning is the Chopper Gunner at 1,600 points. While it’s a powerful streak, the introduction of Interceptors might make it more challenging to use effectively.

Lethals, Tacticals, and Field Upgrades

For those who like throwing things, the Combat Axe is now available at level 24. On the tactical front, we have the Decoy Grenade and the intriguing Proximity Alarm, which should give you some early warning when enemies are nearby.

The Sleeper Agent field upgrade is back, allowing you to disguise yourself as an enemy and slip behind enemy lines. It could be a bit overpowered, but remember, Vigilance is your counter to this sneaky upgrade.

New Weapons: DM10 Marksman Rifle and Tanto 22

DM 10 BO6

At level 25, unlock the DM10 Marksman Rifle, a semi-auto sniper that shows great potential, especially with the right attachments.

The Tonto 22 is also new; it’s essentially the Milano from Black Ops Cold War, a hard-hitting SMG with a slower fire rate. Given the recent nerf to the Jackal PDW, the Tanto 22 might be a strong choice.

COD BO6 Open Beta Week 2 Patch Notes: The Changes from Weekend 1

All Weapons In Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Jackal PDW

Weapon Adjustments

There’s been a substantial nerf to the Jackal PDW, with reductions to both damage and range. This might make it less viable unless someone figures out a new way to make it work. Meanwhile, the C9 has received a buff, and marksman rifles now offer better control with burst queuing disabled.

Spawn Adjustments

Spawn points have been tweaked to reduce those frustrating deaths within seconds of respawning. This adjustment should help avoid the instant deaths but might increase spawn trapping in Team Deathmatch.

Movement Buffs

Most weapon classes have received minor movement speed buffs, with snipers, pistols, and launchers getting slight nerfs. The game should feel faster, as assault rifles and SMGs now have more aligned movement speeds. The RC-XD handling has been improved, and the Watchdog Helo now boasts more health. The Hellstorm Missile also saw a damage radius increase, leading to more impactful explosions. Additionally, the Thermo Grenade now detonates faster, enhancing the overall fast-paced gameplay.

Audio Tweaks

Footsteps are now louder, and weapon-firing sounds have been boosted. While some might find this annoying, it should improve situational awareness significantly.

Conclusion

Overall, Weekend 2 of COD BO6 brings some exciting changes and additions. The new maps, weapons, and scorestreaks, along with the patch notes, should shake up the current meta. I’ll be streaming once the beta goes live, so join me on Twitch to see these changes in action.
